Carmina Burana

Penang Philharmonic Orchestra and Choruses proudly presents...

After recent three years of landmark productions, the Penang Philharmonic Orchestra continues its ambitious journey in bringing monumental choral-orchestral works to Penang.

From the serene beauty of Requiem by Gabriel Fauré in 2023,

to the triumphant scale of Symphony No. 9 by Ludwig van Beethoven in 2024,

and the dramatic intensity of Missa in Angustiis by Joseph Haydn in 2025,

each year has marked a bold artistic milestone.

In 2026, the orchestra and choruses take on one of the most electrifying works ever composed: Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.

Composed in 1936, Carmina Burana draws from a collection of medieval poems exploring fate, love, and the unpredictability of life. Experience the complete work in its full 25-movement form, from the most recognisable sounds in classical music "O Fortuna" to its powerful return.

With massive orchestral and choral forces, driving rhythms, and raw emotional intensity, this is more than a concert. It is a culmination of a journey years in the making.
