Featuring Penang Philharmonic

Founded in 2008, the Penang Philharmonic is a cornerstone of Penang’s cultural identity. Dedicated to musical excellence and community engagement, it is supported by the state government and serves as a vibrant platform for musicians from diverse backgrounds to unite and celebrate music.

From classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions, the Penang Philharmonic embraces a wide spectrum of musical styles. Its commitment to nurturing talent and fostering artistic collaboration has made it a beacon for music lovers across the region.

The institution comprises four ensembles:

– Penang Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) –

– Penang Philharmonic Chamber Choir (PPCC) –

– Penang Philharmonic Winds (PPW) –

– Penang Philharmonic Chorus (PPC) –

Together, these groups enrich Penang’s cultural landscape through performances that connect local and international artists, foster creativity, and inspire audiences of all ages.

Featuring Penang Chinese Girls' Primary School Band

Penang Chinese Girls’ Primary School Band consists of 32 students from Year 3 to Year 6. Most members joined with little or no musical background.

Under the guidance of Coach Benjamin Ng Choong Yen, the band has trained for one year and achieved a Silver Award at the Festival Kesenian Muzik. The band aims to nurture musical skills, teamwork, and confidence among its members.
